WELCOME TO RECOUP UK

Recoup Mission Statement

Our mission is to give people with alcohol and drug issues the opportunity to lead fulfilling and enriched lives. We are committed to demonstrating that recovery is possible and an amazing life is yours for the taking. Drawing from personal experience, compassionate care, education, and evidence-based therapies, we empower our clients to rebuild their lives and embrace a healthy, substance-free future.

Our Story

My name is Jay, and I am one of the two partners here at Recoup, alongside Nick. Nick and I met a couple of years into my recovery, and between us, we share many years of sobriety. Both of our journeys began in a treatment centre—also known as rehab—and although our backstories are different, we, like so many others struggling with alcohol and substance issues, reached a point where we needed help.

We believe that the treatment centres we attended provided us with the education, environment, and space to begin our recovery. They gave us the foundation to not only address our issues with alcohol and drugs but also to discover the solution. The road to recovery is not a straightforward one—it takes time, work, and commitment—but for both of us, treatment was the best way to start that journey.

One of the most powerful aspects of our recovery was being guided by people who had walked the same path. There is something uniquely valuable about being supported by someone who has experienced that same sense of hopelessness and desperation yet found a way out. That’s what we do at Recoup. Through our own lived experience, we understand that one alcoholic or addict can truly connect with and help another in a way that others may struggle to. It’s similar to grief—unless you’ve lived through it, you may not fully understand how it feels.

A safe, judgement-free environment was crucial for us, where we could speak openly among people who genuinely understood. That support system was a key part of our recovery, and it’s exactly what we aim to provide at Recoup.

Since leaving treatment, it has been our dream to give others who are still suffering the same opportunity we had. Why shouldn’t they? We have come to understand addiction as an illness, and we firmly believe that everyone who seeks recovery deserves the chance to achieve it.

For me, recovery means so much more than just sobriety. It means giving my children their father back, giving my parents their son back, and my siblings their brother back. It means finding myself again and, most importantly, being able to help others who have struggled as I once did.

At Recoup, we are here to offer that same chance to those who are ready to take the first step toward a healthier, substance-free future.

What recovery has given me is just the tip of the iceberg—countless others have experienced the same transformation. As you or your loved one embarks on this journey, we are confident you will discover its many rewards.

Before I entered treatment, my family searched tirelessly for an affordable, high-quality rehab facility, only to find such options were rare. I was incredibly fortunate to find the support I needed, and from that moment, I felt a deep calling to offer the same opportunity to others still suffering.

While I am immensely grateful for my treatment centre, my recovery journey highlighted areas for improvement. At Recoup, we have taken these lessons to heart, creating a program that is even more effective, supportive, and accessible.

After extensive discussions, research, and consultations with industry experts—many of whom we now proudly work alongside—Nick and I began the Recoup journey. We have carefully planned every aspect, from our premises to our recovery program, ensuring people not only know about us but understand our core mission: to help as many individuals as possible find lasting recovery.

We are incredibly proud and excited to share that Recoup will officially open its doors in early 2026.

If you or a loved one is struggling with alcohol or substance issues, know that there is hope. Recovery takes time, education, and effort, but the first step is the most important—and it starts with a simple phone call or email.

Take the first step toward a brighter, healthier future today.
